A report from TV Ghana’s Ashanti Regional correspondence this morning has outlined an alleged manhadling of students of the Kumasi Girls Senior High School.
According to the reportage, the student body claim they were on a protest move against the directiv of the GES to keep them in their school for the mid semester break to curb the spread of the Covid-19 delta variant.
The students said the military men allegedly forced their way into their dormitories and beat them for their actions. They (the students) claimed they the only school property distroyed was Veronica buckets.
According to the Ashanti Regional command of the Ghana Armed Forces DCOP Adjem Agyemang, his men deployed to the school but they did not touch any student but they rather spoke with them to calm them down.
According to a Facebook post by Eugene Osei-Tutu on his Facebook page he saidMercy – Senior High Schools Reports Coming in this morning.
1. Soldiers deployed to Kumasi Girls High School last night after students destroy some Veronica buckets in the school. Some of the girls were brutalized.
2. Police officers were also deployed to St. Louis Senior High School.
3. Serwaa Nyarko SHS final year students stranded, no food and provisions.
The consistent inconsistency of the GES and the new love for deploying the military to do police duties is to be blamed for this.
