Now described as the King of music in Northern Ghana, Ghanaian music sensation Fancy Gadam rose to fame after he featured music icon Sarkodie on his debut song dubbed ‘Total cheat’.
After the release of this song which received massive airplay from the traditional media and music lovers, Fancy Gadam has been struggling to get his songs on the the media space in southern Ghana as compared to the northern regions.
According to him, the media in the south make it difficult for talents from the north to promote and hype their brand in the southern part of the country which he described as unfair.
In his statement, Fancy said over the years after his hit song with Sarkodie, any attempt he makes to hype his music on the traditional media especially radio and television in southern Ghana specifically Accra yields no results as his quest is always turned down.
Fancy explained he doesn’t record wack songs and his songs are quality and deserves to be treated same as how songs from the southern artists are treated.
He further explained that his music is always of high quality due to massive investment in production just to attract media attention amongst other reasons but the media in Accra just do not show any interest in promoting songs from him or any other artists from the north.
