At a unit price of GHS78, the government of Ghana has unveiled it spent GHS34.8 million to buy past questions (pasco) for candidates of the 2021 WASSCE under the Free SHS programme.
On the floor of parliament on Wednesday, 14 July 2021, the Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, said the current unit price is 32% more than that of 2020 – GHS59.
Dr Adutwum told the house that in order to help in the preparation of the final-year senior high school students (candidates) for the 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), the Ministry has procured 446,954 past West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) questions from Messrs Kingdom Books and Stationery at a unit price of GHS 78.00. The procurement will be funded from the account of the office Free Senior High School secretariat.
Also, the Ministry has cancelled its previous decision to procure mathematical instruments (maths sets) for the candidates.
