The results of Ghana’s recent population census have surfaced online and has sped up on social trends over the past the past 12 hours as several Ghanaians are surprised by the rapid population growth in a period of ten years.
The last population census held in Ghana was back in 2010 where Ghana recorded a total population of about 20 Million people.
According to the provisional result of the 2020 general population census which was held in 2021 due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the total population of Ghana now stands at 30.8 Million people.
According to the gender breakdown, there are currently over 400,000 more women in Ghana than men.
In the regional breakdown of the chart, the Greater Accra Region took over Ashanti from the previous census to become the most populated region in Ghana.
