Breaking News that just hit online today is that Ashantigold will suffer a demotion to division one following Preliminary report of Match-Fixing investigations during this year’s edition of the Ghana Premier League
Reportage reveals that the Committee investigating the Match-fixing allegations against Ashantigold SC and Inter Allies have proposed that both clubs should be demoted to the next lower level of Ghana’s domestic Football. According to sources both Clubs could not provide enough evidence against the allegations placed against them.
It is maintained that, both clubs and their players failed to answer investigatory questions possed to them by the Ghana FA incestigative committee within the 3 weeks of hearing and sitting.
Ashantigold are to be demoted to the division one while Inter Allies are to be demoted to the Regional division 2.
The clubs are facing charges for match-fixing in their Ghana Premier league week 34 clash in Obuasi when Hashmin Musah scored 2 own goals claiming the fame was fixed.
Several players and management members of the two clubs have testified to the FA investigative committee which began the investigation some 3 weeks ago.
The report from the investigative committee headed by the Integrity officer of the Ghana FA has told the Executive council of the Association to demote the two clubs for breaching several articles of the Ghana FA Disciplinary codes.
