The Ghana national football team represents Ghana in men’s international football and has done so since the 1950s. The team consists of twenty players including the technical team. The team is nicknamed the Black Stars after the Black Star of Africa in the flag of Ghana
The Black Stars reportedly received $5,000 each for 1 – 0 their victory against Ethiopia in the opening game of the World Cup qualifiers.
Ghana subsequently lost to South Africa to leave them tied on points with Ethiopia and blow group G wide open after two round of games.
According to reports, the US$ 5,000 allowance for their victory against Ethiopia is to motivate them to work harder in their next set of Games in order to qualify for FIFA World Cup 2022.
